A Seamless Glamour

This new construction property in Northern liberties is the 5000 square-foot, home to Philadelphia Eagles, Malcolm Jenkins and his beautiful wife and daughter. Henck Design did material selections for every inch of the home. We selected flooring, tile, bathroom vanities, rugs, furniture and more.

Because the couple lived in New Orleans for 5 years before relocating to Philadelphia, they wanted to incorporate that French feeling into their new home. NOLA’s history is so rich and diverse, we developed a palette of distinct French references, old world metal and wood looks, and colors derived from traditional Mardi Gras themes.

In the living room, we used two custom purple velvet sofas in our design, and reflected a soft mauve in the tray ceiling to soften the look of the entire living room. The coffee tables are very low, modern and made of white leather. Two custom white (65″ high) tufted occasional chairs flank the back wall, sandwiching a classic Bourbon St. painting.

Materials in the kitchen are all clean, modern and have a bit of sparkle. The cabinets are very modern, so we used a medium/dark wood finish to keep them in the same aesthetic of the rest of the home. Modern & relaxed is the concept here.

The master bedroom has a flocked wall paper with several metallic colors that tie in with the custom shades and gray tufted bed. We used black rugs in multiple rooms to keep the looks cohesive. Black large format tile and a beautiful white carrera marble envelope the master bathroom.

The basement serves as a hang out room, and office for Malcolm. Nostalgic jerseys from Ohio State, The Saints, The Panthers and more line the walls. The main decorative wall is a span of 35 feet with a floor to ceiling white and gold wallpaper. It’s bold enough to hold up to all the wall hangings, but not too busy to distract.

Finally the Library. We designed and specified every angle and measurement here. A wall to wall custom builtin for first floor entertainment, storage and lounge space is right off the main office on the first floor and main entry. Any guests first impression of this home will truly be an inspiring one, and any friend looking to borrow a book and read a while, certainly has a place to do it!
