An Elevated New Build in Bucks County

Inspired by the outdoors, this Modern farmhouse style home in the heart of Bucks County, PA has a touch of a modern rustic feel staying true to the area’s local landscape and character.

Henck’s Interior Design firm is known for skillfully mixing different interior styles into one comprehensive space, and this family home and Chalfont, PA nestled in between Lansdale and Doylestown is the perfect example. The modern rustic home’s interior design aesthetic was centered predominantly on the use of a neutral color palette while incorporating soft and subtle cool tones through upholstery and woven goods.

It’s easy to see that in the kitchen design, overall neutral tones with white cabinets and touches of rustic warm brown tones. Darker wood finishes were the focus of this design aesthetic and the interior’s medium brown color drapes and accents continue the warm theme.

By offsetting clean, white finishes from warm tones and injecting deep blues into the kitchen island & family room, the interior design creates a cool contrast for the rustic style modern home.

The dining room and opposing home office both have deeper wall colors. The paint colors are more saturated than those found in other living spaces. The moody rooms add a bit more drama while maintaining the modern farmhouse feel along side deep wood tones and textured materials.

Built-ins and floating shelves provide an opportunity to group objects that personalize the home in an organized way and the interior design firm is known for incorporating at least one vintage piece per room.

One of Henck Design’s trademarks is to pull the paint color up across the ceiling rather than leaving the ceiling white, and this project is a perfect example of that use of paint color for the dining room space.

Pillows, art, fresh greenery and woven materials like baskets and rugs add character and make a home feel unique in the living spaces. In kitchen areas, Henck and team incorporates breadboards, dishware, display trays and a wooden bowl for fruit.
