RiverCrest Golf Club
Phoenixville, PAWhen the Henck Design team first visited RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve in 2019, Henck couldn’t help but appreciate the venue’s incredible potential. Each space needed an update from it’s original iteration over 20 years ago complete with traditional fixtures and the original hospitality design. During the height of the pandemic, the owners of the country club recruited HD to transform the venue’s key spaces for entertaining and hosting weddings along with other special events.
The expansive ballroom, typically used for high end weddings and other social events for members got a total refresh. The color palette was completely updated from top to bottom. New custom carpets span vast spaces for hosting sometimes hundreds of guests. The country club’s new design ties in many motifs from most golf clubs in Nashville, using a modern farmhouse aesthetic. The 200 dining room chairs got a high end vegan leather upgrade and every light fixture was updated. Coffered ceilings repeat a typical hospitality design element; the repetition of paint colors and custom millwork was transformed from dark and dated to the latest trends in hotel design. From commercial furniture pieces, and large light fixtures to modern window treatments, the formal ballroom got a total redesign.
In the event space, two wallpapers were installed above and below the chair rail and through neutral window treatments, the designers at HD were able to soften the vast open space’s acoustics as well as visual appeal.
Hospitality interior design often requires developing custom broadloom carpets at different scales, addressing lighting design, and utilizing transitional interior design styles that appeal to many. Lounge furniture, area rugs and light fixtures were all quite important to establish a balanced aesthetic to blend with the otherwise traditional country club’s architecture.
Draperies and roman shades line the window wall of the reception area, creating continuity through circulation spaces. Wallcoverings in each room repeat paint colors and reinforce the color choices in the adjacent restaurant design and bar area.
The HD team successfully blended transitional design motifs with an updated color palette to update the Chester County venue. We removed dark brown and deep red furnishings, brightened the color palette, and introduced neutral furnishings to enhance the reach of the venue's appeal.
