Modern Townhouse Bold Redesign

This high-end 3500 square foot townhouse was an interior desig project that the Henck Design team gladly took on in Philadelphia’s bustling Washington Square West neighborhood. Incorporated in the home’s décor is a blend of traditional elements like oversized mirrors, grand piano, and crystal chandeliers.

The architectural features of the modern home create a charming feel alongside the traditional features of the home and the interior design team at Henck Design strategically incorporated other modern and transitional furniture pieces, area rugs and modern art to coordinate with all of the above mentioned design elements.

The family room has a soaring 25 foot ceiling height in front of the beautiful bay window that overlooks Lombard Street in this highly sought after neighborhood.

Below the large traditional crystal chandelier, sits a custom black sofa in a velvet print fabric that Henck designed along with a unique organic coffee table in front. A white channel tufted modern chair and light neutral rug with grand piano high gloss black ties in the black of the sofa, large scale modern art.

Aside from the townhouse’s ‘to die for’ updated kitchen renovation complete with large-scale pendants over the contemporary white island with waterfall, the adjacent modern black and white dining room is an absolute showstopper.

The townhome’s kitchen has white quartz solid stone backsplash, a custom hood, plenty of storage in and around the kitchen island and with ample natural light to spare, custom window treatments were a must for these interior design clients!

In the primary bedroom, textural wallpaper and the California king tufted bed with nailheads and a modern crystal chandelier create a luxe, hotel-like feel. The interior design team furnished a second soft seating area in the primary suite complete with full size sofa, matching area rug, and custom hotel style draperies.

The modern townhouse’s interior design has proven to be both elegant and bold off Washington square.
