Main Line Center Hall Colonial

Wayne, Pennsylvania

At Henck Design, we pride ourselves on having a range of style. Delivering versatile interior design concepts that suit our client's needs with a clear vision is always our priority. Fans of our interior design brand ask us, what is the HD style? The answer is we design for the client, no matter what style they choose.

This traditional colonial home is in the heart of The Main Line suburb; Wayne, Pennsylvania. The now timeless interior is next to some of the most revered real estate in the great state of Pennsylvania. A timeless home in a such hallmark location is sure to stand the test of time and stay relevant for generations.

The style of the traditional home in Wayne is what we call “updated classic” and the family is thrilled with the updates. Having owned this home for almost 30 years, it needed some reimagining to refresh it. The Henck Design team updated the home by adding a mix of old and new-world style items. In doing so, we made sure to respect the original design and using transitional furniture & area rugs.

A combination of antique furniture and modern design elements are used throughout the home. To keep the interior authentically traditional, we made use of vintage pieces with modern wall art and decor. High-end light fixtures and traditional window treatments for privacy and a decorative flair finish the rooms. These sophisticated elements allowed the living space to transform into a truly elevated interior.

Custom-designed sofas, high ceilings, updated paint colors, two-story draperies, and fabulous architectural details truly set this home apart. Transforming the formal dining room into a sophisticated lounge for entertaining gives a whole new energy to this space. The HD team focused on keeping the time-honored character in this family home. We did this by including dark stained oak floors and classic patterns like florals and damask.

As with all traditional style interior design, an emphasis on symmetry and order was important, alongside an updated color palette with neutral color schemes and even a few jewel tones.

Comfortable furniture that’s high quality and with a long-lasting style is at the forefront of this Main Line interior design project. Some of the transitional pieces that are a bit more up-to-date than the vintage elements that make it feel relevant in today’s world.
