Relaxed Contemporary Townhome

Washington Square West, Philadelphia

A blend of identities intersects in this rustic style modern home in Philadelphia to create a truly family friendly contemporary townhome.

The neutral interior tells stories of worldwide travel, and masculine identity through a carefully curated gallery wall in the main family room. Memories of tours through Cuba, Indonesia, Morocco, and more line the focal wall and support the storytelling components of the home’s interior design.

The modern interior design is clear from minimal layers that unfold from room to room. The clients are active travelers—a trait that we held in high esteem throughout the design development from room to room. All of the framed art in the home is original and consists of photos of the client’s global adventures.

Warm elements like rustic flooring, cowhide rugs, and natural components like curved furniture, sheepskins, and modern lamps allow for an up-to-date look that fits the architecture of this 4200-square-foot home in Washington Square West, Philadelphia.

The black-and-white color story is reflected in the fifth-floor indoor-outdoor living areas. The interior design for the townhome incorporates neutral wall colors and integrates eclectic items, with black metal finishes and white transitional style upholstery.

The upstairs living room is off a large balcony that overlooks views of Center City, Philadelphia.

The modern master bedroom has ample space, outfitted with a curved chaise lounge and roomy his-and-hers walk-in custom closets. In the master bathroom, one is greeted with floor-to-ceiling windows and white marble, through the custom glass shower giving the entire space an open airy feel.
